General Disscusion

I have just recently finished the third Halo book, Halo: The Fall of Reach. This was the first Halo book i read. And yes i know it is not the first in the series but i found that out by the time i had already finished it. Now i am reading the one directly after it named Halo: The Flood. After i finish reading this book i will read Halo: Contact Harvest then Halo: Cole Protocol. Halo: Fall of Reach was every thing i expected it to be and more. Since i played and finished the games before i read the books i was eager to learn the real story. It is nice to know the origin of Spartan 117 A.K.A. The Master chief. I still cant wait for the newest game of the Halo series to come out called Halo: Reach. i have already pre-ordered it and if you love Halo as much as I then i suggest for you to do the same.

1. Article 1
Title: Rights-Us: Another Legal Setback For Arar Torture Case
Could this be an interesting exit project topic? Why/why not?
No because i don't think that this is a capable topic for an exit project.
What did you learn about this topic that you didn't know before, after reading the article?
I learned that a Canadian citizen was suing an attorney general because he/she claims to have been kidnapped and tortured for being detained at the border.
What questions do you still have?
I am still wondering why this Canadian citizen would think that any one would believe him for his ridiculous claim.

2. Article 2:
Title:Pakistan: Polio vaccination: One hurdle down, one more to go
Could this be an interesting exit project topic? Why/why not?
yes because i think that it is a little strange that Pakistan is getting the polio vaccine a lot later than the rest of the world.
What did you learn about this topic that you didn't know before, after reading the article?
I learned that the Taliban had to do with the fact that the vaccine was not being administrated to all the people in pakistan.
What questions do you still have?
I am still wondering who the Taliban are and if they are related to Al-qeada.
Topic 1:
A. Which topic did you choose to research? Why is this the one that interests you?
I chose to research the topic of nuclear weapons. this research topic interested me because if we aren't careful we can cause a nuclear war or world war 3 that might be the end of most or all life on earth.
B. What are ten interesting facts or ideas that you learned? You MUST put them into your own words.
1. I learned that there were two very close calls on starting either a nuclear war or killing many innocent people.
2. The first close call was in Russia when president Boris Yeltsin
was told that a nuclear warhead was flying towards Russia. He waited for a moment before sending counter attack missiles back. While he was waiting he was informed that it was a false alarm so he did not send any missiles back causing a nuclear war.
3. the second close call was in America when they were about to preform a nuclear missile
simulation. just before they activated it, they realized that they were about to launch a missile. so they shut of the machine.
4. I learned that America was trying to prevent the spread of nuclear warheads and silos.
5. I learned that there has been a number of treaties with other countries across the globe to stop producing and selling nuclear missiles.
C. Can you see this becoming your exit project topic? Why/why not?
No i cannot see this becoming my exit project because i am really not that interested in this issue as much as i thought i was. Also because it doesn't seem to harbor enough information to be a substantial exit project.
D. What is a question you have after doing your reading?
I am wondering why the whole world doesn't just agree to get rid of all their missiles at the same time by launching them in to space?
Topic 2:
A. Which topic did you choose to research? Why is this the one that interests you?
I chose the topic of arms control. this topic interest me because i think that the world doesn't really have a grasp on the control of where their weapons are being shipped to and who is buying them.
B. What are ten interesting facts or ideas that you learned? You MUST put them into your own words.
1. i learned that a lot of people think the same way i do.
2. i learned that it tuns out that the world doesn't really control the way it's weapons are distributed.
3. Some people think that the more weapons we make the weaker we become.
4. When nations feel threatened they make more arms then most of those arms are bought by hostile countries or groups.
5. If one country makes a lot of weapons then the others will follow so they wont be weaker.
C. Can you see this becoming your exit project topic? Why/why not?
No because i don't think that this would be an interesting or fun topic to complete my project on.
D. What is a question you have after doing your reading?
Why are almost all countries worried about being better than the others so much?

Social justice

Social Justice Poem:
Social Justice is what we want
It is justified
It is when society takes justice into their own hands
It is referred to as civil justice
Social justice is fair
When everyone is equal
Social justice is a society where justice is achieved in every day life
in some cases it is a political party in Israel
It started in febuary 2007 for society
It is now a political party

General discussion

Halo is still the best video game as always. there should be no reason why anyone would not simply love it. Especially with all the games in the series. Games like (listed in order), Halo:combat evolved, Halo 2, Halo 3, Halo wars, Halo 3 ODST, and the soon to be Halo REACH. But in order to understand the story truly you should play every game and read all the books. The books are (listed in order), Halo: Contact Harvest, Halo: Cole protocol, Halo: The Fall of reach, Halo: The Flood, Halo: First Strike, and Halo: Ghost of Onyx. If you enjoyed the books you will love the games and vice versa. I recommend both all of the games and books to any one who reads or has an Xbox 360. When i looked up the story of halo this is what i found:
1. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Halo_(series)
2. http://halo.xbox.com/en-us/games/halo3/#video_1

HW:
1. I am most exited about the fact that we have to complete a 8-12 page assignment to pass 8th grade.
2. My biggest fear is that if i can't complete this project for any reason i might be held back.
3. I hope that i get a good grade out of this project so i can pass 8th grade and show it to my high school.
4. My self-advice is to stay calm and just finish the project no matter what whether i like it or not.
